Terms of service
Last updated 2026-08-01
1. Who this agreement is with
This agreement is between KidCards LLC and you, an adult parent or legal guardian. Children do not hold accounts. A child uses a profile inside your account, under your supervision. You are responsible for what happens in your household’s account.
2. You must be the parent or guardian
When you register you attest that you are at least 18 and that you are the parent or legal guardian of every child whose profile you create. We verify your identity before any child information is collected. Creating a profile for a child you are not responsible for is a breach of this agreement and we will close the account.
3. What the service does
KidCards is a private card binder. Kids catalogue cards, connect to friends they have met in person by scanning a QR code, and — with both parents’ approval — see each other’s approved cards. There is no messaging, no public feed, and no way to search for other children.
4. Your approval is the gate
Nothing a child creates becomes visible to anyone outside your household until you approve it. Connections require approval from both parents. You may revoke a connection at any time.
5. Credits
Credits are a closed-loop feature for use inside your own household only — for example, paying a child for a chore. Credits:
- cannot be sent to another family
- cannot be redeemed for cash, and are not refundable to cash
- have no value outside KidCards
- can be spent only on KidCards printed products
Credits are not a stored-value instrument, not a gift card, and not money transmission. If you close your account with credits remaining, they are forfeited; ask us first and we will try to help.
6. Membership and cancellation
A membership is $6.99 per month, charged to the payment method you provide, renewing monthly until you cancel. Before you are charged you will see the price, the billing frequency, and the fact that it renews. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard in two clicks. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current period. A cancelled membership does not delete your data — see the retention policy.
7. Printed cards
Custom card packs cost 199 credits per copy. The official KidCard is included with an active membership. Printed items are made to order and are not returnable unless they arrive damaged or wrong, in which case we reprint at no cost.
8. Trading and selling
Any exchange of physical cards happens in person, between families, and is entirely between them. KidCards records the intent and requires both parents to approve it. We are not a party to the exchange, we do not guarantee condition or authenticity, and we do not hold funds for it.
9. Shipping
Physical mail is addressed to the parent, at the parent’s address. We never address mail to a child. The printed card itself shows only a nickname, an avatar, and a QR code.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- put a child’s real name, photo, address, school, or contact details anywhere
- upload anything unlawful, hateful, or sexual
- use the service to contact a child outside your household
- attempt to bypass the approval gates or probe connection codes
11. Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or endangers a child. Where we safely can, we will tell you why.
12. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability we cannot limit by law.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you before it takes effect. If a change materially affects what we collect from your child, your existing permissions stop counting and we ask you again.
14. Governing law
Pennsylvania law governs this agreement. Any dispute is heard in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you and we both consent to that venue.
