~10 sfrom photo to named card

From a photo to a named card in about ten seconds

Point a phone at any sports or trading card, take one picture, and KidCard tells you what it is: the player or character, the set, the year, the card number and whether it is a rookie, an autograph or a parallel. No typing, no searching, no grown-up needed at the table.

How the scan works

The photo goes to two vision models that read the card the way a collector does: the name on the front, the set logo, the copyright line and the number on the back. When the two models disagree, the card goes to a review queue instead of being guessed.

Every read is checked against a catalogue of real card printings, so a card that does not exist in a set is flagged rather than invented.

What your kid sees

A named card with its story in two sentences, a star rating, a condition grade and a spot in their vault. Scans that need a second look say so plainly, which is how kids learn that a photo in good light matters.

A blurry photo gets a “try again” with a tip, not a wrong answer.

Why ten seconds matters

A kid with a shoebox of three hundred cards will not type three hundred names. At ten seconds a card, a rainy afternoon catalogues the whole box, and the collection becomes something they can sort, show and trade.

Which cards it reads

Modern football, hockey, baseball and basketball cards, plus Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic. Vintage cards work when the text is legible. Stickers, custom cards and heavily damaged cards are the usual misses, and the scanner says when it is unsure.

Questions parents ask

›Does my kid need an account to scan a card?

A grown-up sets up the family once. After that a kid signs in with their own username and scans from any phone or tablet.

›Is the photo stored?

The card photo is kept with the card in your family’s vault so you can see what was scanned. It is never shared outside the family unless you choose to trade or sell.

›What if the scanner gets a card wrong?

Tap the card and correct it. Corrections teach the catalogue match for the next kid who scans the same card.

›How much does scanning cost?

Scanning is included. KidCard charges for printed cards, merch and optional memberships, never per scan.
